LOCAL
MISSION SITES
South Main currently sponsors 32 local mission
points, groups meeting weekly for Bible study and worship
in apartment projects and other informal locations.
These groups reach people who are not likely to come
to a traditional church. Several of these mission sites
work with families whose language is other than English.

Main members have many opportunities throughout the
year to hae direct involvement in these community ministries,
We sponsor a food ministry through our church, asking
the membership to bring canned goods on the last Sunday
of every other month, with the foods distributed through
our local mission sites. |

BAPTIST
MISSIONS WORLDWIDE
South Main is cooperating Southern Baptist
Church. We work together with other congregations in
the Pasadena area to sponsor a Pasadena Community food
Ministry. We work with other Baptists in the Houston
area through the Union Baptist Association. |
We
cooperate with other Texas Baptists through the Baptist
General Convention of Texas in support of missions ministries
in Texas.
As a cooperating Southern Baptist Church, a percentage
of all undesigneated funds are sent through "The
Cooperative Program" a plan for distrubution of
funds to joint causes around the world. These ministries
include buy are not limited to international missions
work, North American missions work, hospitals, children's
homes, the establishment of new churches, and seminaries.
Our church also sends designated missions gifts through
the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, a second Baptist
missionary-sending agency. |

APARTMENT
LIFE
South Main's newest mission ministry are 1
Cares Team. At the Broadwater Apartments in Pasadena,
Victor and Linda Vasquez are serving as a Cares Teams
at that apartment complex. This team has been placed
there to enrich the residents' lives through social
|
activities
and to serve as volunteer chaplains. If you're interested
in serving in a ministry like this, contact Bill McMillin,
