YOU WERE SHAPED FOR SERVING GOD
As we have learned together through our 40 Days of Purpose study, that is the fourth of the five purposes God has for our lives. Serving God by ministering to others is God's way of loving others through our words and deeds.
The many ways that Southmainers are presently seeking to serve God are listed below. I ask you to walk through it prayerfully and ask God to help you find one or more ministries that best fits your SHAPE.

MASTER'S TOUCH MINISTRIES
The Master's Touch Ministries are all ministries
where we seek to minister to our community and to individuals
in need of special care. These ministries are led by
volunteer teams, coordinated by Dr. Bill Bryan, Minister
of Administration and Pastoral Care. |

SECOND FAMILY CARE TEAM
This team seeks to minister to the needs of the frail and elderly and to their families. The ministry is done by a regular contact through a phone call, a card or a personal visit. Volunteers are welcome to this team. |

KID'S PAL CARE TEAM
This team seeks to a need to families with children suffering from cerebral palsy, systic fibrosis, and similar chronic illnesses. It provides a gift of time away for the parents and other siblings. Parents may also attend worship services as volunteers care for the children. Volunteers are welcome to this team. |

AIDS CARE TEAM
This team ministerS to the needs of those with Aids and to their families. The ministry is done by a regular contact through a phone call, a card or a personal visit. Volunteers are welcome to this team. |

ALZHEIMER'S CARE TEAM / GATHERING PLACE
A monthly meeting of the Gathering Place provides time away for adults who are providing care for someone with dementia and early stage Alzheimer's. volunteers create a loving, caring atmosphere for those left in their care. Additional volunteers are welcome. The Gathering Place meets for lunch on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the fellowship hall. |

HOSTS
Helping One child to Succeed (HOSTS) is a nation-wide tutoring program for elementary school children. Volunteers are needed in many schools to help children improve reading and math skills. volunteers work with one child for 30 minutes to an hour once a week on a school campus. |
FAMILY LIFE MINISTRIES
All Family Life Ministries are conducted through volunteers, coordinated by Jo Batson, our Minister of Family Life. If you are interested in serving in any of these ministries, please contact the Family Life office. |
