God's Plan

 

God loves you and offers you the best life, both now and in eternity! The Bible says "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). That means that God is with us now, and that we can be with Him when we physically die one day.

The problem is that we naturally choose our own way over God's way. The Bible call this "sin." And sin keeps us from having all the best that God offers us in life. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). As a result of sin, we are separated from God. The Bible calls this spiritual death. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

God's solution to our sin problem was to send Jesus, His Son, to pay for our sin. God sent Jesus to live as a man on this earth, some 2,000 years ago. (We celebrate His birth each Christmas). The Bible says Jesus lived a perfect life, never sinning, and therefore He could pay the penalty for sin, once and for all, and He did when He was put to death on a cross. The Bible says, God demonstrated His love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8).

The best news is that three days later, God raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus resurrection showed Gods power to help us overcome sins grip on our lives. (We celebrate Jesus resurrection each Easter). Jesus offers us the way to have a restored with God the Father by asking Him to forgive us of our sin, and to become our Lord, another word for boss. With Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you can experience the full life and freedom from sin that God has always intended. Now that is GOOD NEWS!
