Bobie Miller grew up in West Texas, some fifty miles from Lubbock. Bobie came to know Christ in his teen years at his home town church, First Baptist Church of Sundown, Texas. He attributes a strong Christian family and a lovely Christian mate, Kathy as the major influences for his Christian commitment. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a music degree. While attending Tech, Bobie served as Minister of Music and Youth at the First Baptist Church of Abernathy. Bobie holds a Masters in Religious Education degree from Southwestern Seminary. During seminary, he served at the First Baptist Church of Grandview, along with Ron Lyles. Following seminary, Bobie served as the Minister of Music and Youth at the First Baptist Church of Floydada, Texas, before coming to South Main in 1982. Bobie Miller serves as the Associational Music Director for the Union Baptist Association and has completed a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from The University of Houston.
