Maybe you have been reflecting on the big issues of life and thinking about attending a church for the first time or the first time in a long time. Maybe you have decided that you/your family need some encouragement. Maybe you have recently moved to this area and are looking for a group of God's people with which to continue your spiritual journey. Whatever your story, we want to offer you some idea of what you should expect to find here at South Main. Here is what you can expect when you come to our church:
A Friendly Environment
Smiling faces and pleasant people await you. Others have discovered that this church is comprised of a number of persons who, though not perfect, are genuine in their desire to please Jesus Christ. You will be warmly and authentically welcomed. We love Jesus and love one another demonstrating that love in word and action.
the Sunday Schedule
Worship services are held at 8:15 am (traditional music), 10:45 am (contemporary music) and 5:40 pm (Informal, hymns, and great preaching). Sunday morning Bible studies meet at 9:30 am. NOTE: Any changes to this schedule will be in the rotators on the home page.
what to wear
You'll see people in everything from shorts to suits on Sundays. Our early service (8:15) is more traditional in nature so most of the time you’ll see people dressed in the traditional “church” attire. The second service (10:45) is more contemporary and you’ll notice the dress is casual. Our concern isn't what's on the outside, but what's on the inside. Come as you are. Besides, Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him. Why shouldn't we?
We set aside reserved parking for first-time guests in our north parking lot -- conveniently across from our main entrance. General parking is also available in other parts of the north, south, and west parking lots.
activities for your kids
Of course! We have Sunday options for newborns through high school seniors, including special times of worship designed just for the younger kids: Kids Zone (10:45 only) is for Pre-Kindergartners through 3rd grade. They enjoy the first part of the worship service with their families and are dismissed together to the Kidz Place upstairs for a worship and learning experience geared toward their age levels. Bible Study – Our online listing of Sunday Bible Studies provides more detail about what’s available for all children, no matter what their age may be. (By the way, if you’re wondering about your college students or single adult children, we have options for them, too!)
Finding a bible study
On Sunday, stop by the Welcome Center in the main Narthex. A Welcome Team member can show you a listing of Sunday Bible studies, including a map of where each one is located. Believe us -- our goal is to get every guest and member into a Sunday Bible study so we'll go out of our way to help you get connected!
finding your way around
Our signage system will help a lot. But the best way is to stop by the Welcome Center in the main Narthex. Our volunteer Welcome Team members will love to show you where you're going -- and even walk with you to make sure you find your way. On top of that, you’ll be able to pick up a Bible study option sheet handout which includes maps of the building.
